Philosophy

In knitwear, defining a garment’s design is a complex process: the idea becomes central, while we bring in our expertise, experimentation, and deep knowledge of the supply chain to turn it into reality. We design stitches, textured patterns, and jacquards. We carefully curate the selection of yarns and colors, and their combinations, to create complex and cohesive constructions. Dialogue with brands, attention to detail, and a rigorous approach are at the core of our way of working. They allow us to ensure reliability and to develop projects with a strong, distinctive identity. The final product emerges from a thoughtful and structured process, where expertise, research, and attention to detail intertwine to shape a clear and recognizable identity. Here, technical mastery engages with a cultural vision of making, transforming each creation into something that stands the test of time.

Since 1962, our desks have been filled every day with sketches, ideas, fabrics, notes, and projects. It is an ongoing process of research that accompanies each collection. We have preserved everything: swatches, stitch developments, structural studies, prototypes, and finished garments. We have meticulously organized and classified them to build our archive of stitches and garments—one of our most valuable creative resources. This archive is a constantly evolving tool, as well as an ideal starting point for developing new ideas. It allows past experiences to be reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. It is knowledge at the service of both our daily work and our future.

M3 Knitwear is located in a place of balance, halfway between the Dolomites and Venice. On one side, the mountains with their silent strength. On the other, water—a symbol of culture, creativity, and openness to the world. It is here in Veneto, in an area where knitwear is considered both an art and an excellence, that our vision of work has taken shape: one that values research, creativity, raw materials, time, and manufacturing expertise; one that strives to transform every project into an authentic product, crafted with care and designed to last. This is why, for us, Made in Italy is more a way of being than a simple indication of origin. Local partners who share this philosophy also play a key role in completing our supply chain. They are companies and artisans from the region with highly specialized expertise, with whom we collaborate whenever a project requires it.

For this reason, we collaborate with schools at all levels, with a particular focus on specialized higher education, including IUAV University of Venice and ITS institutes. In particular, we are a partner of the Master in Creative Knitwear Design by Accademia Costume & Moda in collaboration with Modateca Deanna—the only Italian master’s program entirely dedicated to knitwear. Each year, we develop the capsule collection of one of its graduates.

We open the doors of our knitwear company to students and young talents, supporting them in transforming their ideas into tangible projects. Workshops, research activities, and sample development become opportunities for dialogue and shared growth. It is a reciprocal exchange: we share our experience and know-how, while they bring new perspectives, sensitivities, and design languages. A dialogue that enriches both sides and contributes to shaping a conscious, contemporary knitwear culture—rooted in the present and driven by innovation.
