About
We are a creative knitwear company: we combine threads, colors, and stitches to create knitwear with a distinctive personality and style.
For over sixty years, we have placed our experience and know-how at the service of international fashion brands. Over time, we have grown into a benchmark company and a leading excellence within the Treviso textile district: a reliable partner capable of transforming cutting-edge technology into endless possibilities. We continuously create new effects—color nuances, shades, and unexpected tactile sensations—enhanced through different finishes and knitting techniques, even when working with the same yarn.
Ours is the story of a family. Knitwear and creativity are part of our DNA.
More than just a company, M3 Knitwear is the Saccon family. Marzia, Michele, Mauro, and Reginetta are four siblings who grew up immersed in the world of knitwear, learning its inner workings from an early age.
It all began with their parents’ dream, which soon became a shared reality where each brings their own technical expertise and innate passion.
Today, Marzia oversees client relations and project development, Michele leads administration, Mauro is in charge of knitting, and Reginetta manages production planning.

1962
From a small rented room.
Our story begins with the dream of two young people: Anna Maria and Antonio, who rented a small room to give shape to their passion for knitwear. There was no structured company yet, but there was determination, entrepreneurial spirit, and a deep love for the craft. This is how SAPAM was born.
From its earliest years, the company distinguished itself through high-quality artisanal production, crafted from premium materials. In a short time, SAPAM became a leading player in the Treviso textile district, one of Italy’s most important hubs for knitwear. The first international clients soon followed, at a time when Italian knitwear tradition was already highly regarded worldwide.

1966
The move to San Vendemiano.
In 1966, Anna Maria and Antonio purchased land in San Vendemiano and began construction on their first factory. The building was expanded several times over the years, eventually becoming today’s production headquarters.
In the 1970s, the number of international clients continued to grow, particularly in the United Kingdom and the United States. Among them was the brand Miguel Cruz, for whom SAPAM created knitted evening gowns. One of these was worn by Pat Nixon, wife of U.S. President Richard Nixon, at a White House inaugural celebration.

1980
Proprietary Brands
The company took a major step forward: building on its experience in contract manufacturing, Sapam—its first proprietary collection—was launched. This was followed by Terza Linea and Marzia Tricot, along with the exclusive license to distribute Nina Ricci knitwear, for which SAPAM had already been producing for years.
From that moment until 1992, the company continued working with external clients while simultaneously developing its three proprietary collections.

1992
The Generational Transition
In 1992, a new chapter began. SAPAM closed, making way for a new vision as Anna Maria and Antonio’s children founded M3 Knitwear. Initially, the company was led by Marzia, Mauro, and Michele, with Reginetta joining at a later stage.
The new generation chose to return to the essence of their expertise, focusing on production for international brands while enhancing their creative capabilities. In doing so, they reaffirmed M3 Knitwear as a fully Made in Italy manufacturer—deeply rooted in tradition, yet able to engage with an increasingly dynamic global market. It is from this balance between experience and vision that a new phase of growth began.

2019
The Shift Towards Sustainability
In 2019, a pivotal encounter marked the beginning of a new direction: a meeting with a French designer who set out to create a highly sustainable knitwear product. This experience sparked a deep reflection, leading us to rethink our processes and responsibilities. In a short time, sustainability became a core focus for us.
The management team embarked on a dedicated training path and initiated an internal mapping of the company, identifying challenges and strengths while laying the foundations for a more conscious evolution. Over the following years, this journey translated into increasingly concrete and structured actions, eventually becoming an integral part of our identity.

2023
Benefit Corporation
We celebrated 60 years of history by becoming a Benefit Corporation. In doing so, we gave concrete form to a vision that has always been part of us: the belief that the value created by M3 Knitwear is measured not only in economic terms, but also through the social and environmental impact it generates.
In the same year, our journey was also recognized locally: we received the award promoted by CNA Treviso, “Una famiglia, un’impresa – Campioni della continuità” (One Family, One Enterprise – Champions of Continuity), as a company capable of creating value and serving as a point of reference for the community.

2026
Always Evolving
We continue to work with the same passion as always, striving to improve day by day. Today, our priority is to strengthen our commitment as a sustainable company through concrete actions, remaining attentive to the changes in the world around us.
Along this journey, we believe it is essential to support students and young talents: from them, we welcome new perspectives and new languages—valuable inspiration that drives us to keep innovating.

The true soul of M3 Knitwear is its people: an invaluable wealth of experience and passion for knitwear.
Many of our employees have been with us for a long time—some for 30 or even 40 years. They have grown within the company and witnessed the evolution of the industry firsthand. Today, they safeguard a unique body of knowledge, where artisanal attention to detail blends seamlessly with expertise in modern technologies.
They represent a valuable heritage, which we nurture through an inclusive work environment built on safety, open dialogue, and a genuine work-life balance.
Looking to the future, we are aware that generational transition will be a complex challenge, but we face it with the determination to preserve this cultural heritage. For this reason, we continuously invest in young people and in their education and development.
BENEFIT CORPORATION
We believe that a company’s value is measured not only by numbers, but by the ethical choices it makes every day.
In 2023, we formalized this vision by becoming a Benefit Corporation. This means that our corporate bylaws include specific common-benefit objectives aimed at protecting the environment, the community, and people. It is a concrete commitment that guides our strategic decisions across all stages of production—from the selection of yarns and suppliers to collection development and our relationship with the local area.
To ensure transparency, we monitor our progress each year through an Impact Report: a document that outlines the results achieved in the previous year and sets out our goals for the year ahead.
